Dave:
Sincere congratulations on 30 years of coaching. I have had the pleasure of coaching with you for many of your years. As a result we have developed a lasting friendship.
Being directly associated with you through coaching, I saw first hand the passion that you held for the game of basketball. You always brought a high level of energy and enthusiasm to each and every game and practice. You genuinely cared about each and every player that you coached or were associated with. No matter what the talent level was for any particular year you always brought the best out of the kids, and it showed in the results. Opponents always knew they had their hands full with a Dave Sullivan coached St. Thomas team. I watched first hand the respect that was shown to you by opposing coaches, referees and all associated with catholic grammar school basketball. I was always amazed at your memory, you could recall every detail from every game whether it was played the day before or five years earlier. St. Thomas is blessed by your dedication and effort and is fortunate to have a man of your character amongst them. While I have too many fond memories to share, I share in joining others to once again say thank you. While St. Thomas has many banners hanging in the gym from Dave Sullivan's teams, its not about the banners. You have directly impacted the lives of so many St. Thomas students in a positive way and it must be very fulfilling to see these students later on as successful adults and knowing that you had a positive impact on their lives.
You have set the bar very high for all associated with the St. Thomas Basketball Program.
All the Best my Friend
