Congratulations Dave on 30 wonderful years of coaching at St. Thomas! Long before I had a son on the basketball team I had heard of you from Peggy Flaherty. I knew you were special and that my son had something to look forward to having you as a coach. You certainly lived up to all our expectations. Not only did you solidly teach the fundamentals of a great game, you added lessons on sportsmanship, respect and faith. I was thrilled to learn that you said the Hail Mary at the start of each game. You are a class act and a wonderful role model. You taught each team member, not just the stars and encouraged each young man to do his personal best. Each young man from Justin and Jake's team who tried out for their high school team freshman year made the team. That is no accident...they took your instructions to heart and that made each of them real players. It is our privilege to know you as a coach and a friend. We wish you health and happiness Dave!
